If your basement or foundation walls have cracks in them, it is very important that the cracks are investigated by an expert to help diagnose the cause and implement a repair that can prevent any future damage. The underlying causes of foundation and basement wall cracks are generally from the soil expanding and contracting during the seasons or something pressing against the wall such as large tree roots. If the cracking becomes severe enough, it could eventually lead to leaks in the basement.
Our team can find the cause of the problem and then start to work on implementing a repair. We install carbon fiber repair products manufactured by Rhino. The carbon fiber strips we can apply to the wall cracks are very strong, stronger than steel, and can help ensure the basement or foundation cracks will not grow any more and prevent future damage to your house.
Shotcrete refers to a process by which a special concrete mixture is sprayed from a hose and onto a damaged concrete surface. This surface could be your foundation, driveway, garage floor, patio, sidewalk, or any other concrete surface. Shotcrete can easily be applied, and is a much more cost-effective solution than total foundation or concrete replacement. Shotcrete is typically an all-inclusive term used to describe both wet and dry mix versions. It's becoming a popular alternative to total concrete replacement because it undergoes placement and compaction at the same time because of the force with which it is applied from the hose's nozzle. It can be put on any type of concrete surface, including vertical and overhead areas.
Basically, shotcrete has the following advantages over total foundation or concrete replacement:
- Less time
- Less money
- Less disruption
- Four times stronger than standard concrete
In addition to our Shotcrete services, we can provide repairs using spray concrete. The process consists of the following steps. First we clean and remove all loose wall debris. Next we will drill and pin a wire mesh to the existing foundation wall. We will then apply two coats of a sticky concrete mixture. Finally we will apply a light broom finish to the sprayed concrete. By applying the wire mesh, we add reinforcement which provides strength and durability to the repair. This is a more affordable alternative to Shotcrete
